The Roof Hound Story began many moons ago, with owner, Les Barr's grandfather. The man had eleven children and no money for beer so he decided to make his own.
He put water, raisins, brown sugar, & yeast in a bucket, & placed that bucket behind the wood stove, where it fermented & turned to alcohol. He enjoyed his liquid creation & then poured the swollen raisins out in the backyard, where the family hound dog, Lady (pictured), found them. Lady ate up those alcohol-plumped raisins, climbed up the woodpile, and onto the roof of the house. There in her drunken stupor she moaned & howled all through the night.
